Thank you Ruth. Yes we should always take to heart the wishes of our family. They are the fuel for everything I do. This run was in honor of my family so it was fitting to respect their wishes. Thanks for your kind words and for recognizing that it isn't always easy to do what is easier!

Dear Lori,
What a strong, focused, role-model you are for all of us, especially those who don't train or run as you do. It is always best, I think, to be thoughtful about what you should or shouldn't do. Sometimes, family input is very smart. It took a lot for you to do as they suggested; I am in awe of your wisdom, without a feeling of disappointment in yourself. You CERTAINLY did what was best for YOU and you continue to be a WINNER!!!! Hooray and congratulations to you and the whole Sperber family. How very lucky you all are to have each other!!!
Love,
Ruth

I agree with you wholeheartedly! You only should say what you mean and mean what you say...and follow up with right action! LOL!! Can you guess which acronym I mean here? I'm sending you love right back!

It's always ok to say I love you if you mean it. It's not ok to not say it if you love someone. It's not ok to say it if you don't mean it. If you say it all the time, then a follow-up action is needed from time to time to show sincerity. But most important, the words themselves are the action. So let it out Lori! I love you!

Lori, nice sharing,i do exactly the same thing, talking to myself while I'm running. And listening to music sometimes is a distraction. We have to schedule a run together on the trials, (once my leg brace is remove in 2 weeks!)

I'm with you girlfriend! At 49 I am looking forward to celebrating the big 50 coming. I've realized this year it's not too late to try new things and am excited to be doing my first relay marathon this October. Thanks for reminding us to be grateful for our years.
